The evidence behind
every city.
50 U.S. destinations. 50 international cities. Ten stops in every guide.
This is a directory of useful city guides, not a ranking of the world’s most visited cities. Destination inclusion and the order of attractions are separate editorial questions.
How cities enter the directory
The original collection used published visitor-volume evidence and a destination index. The expansion adds regional coverage, including Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, South Asia and New Zealand, supported by official destination information.
A “Regional coverage addition” is an editorial inclusion decision. It does not claim a measured popularity rank, a search-volume estimate or a verified position among the world’s busiest cities. Each city’s source and geographic scope appear below.
United States: visitor evidence and regional coverage
The published visitor figures use different years, boundaries and definitions, including day visits, overnight trips and domestic-only measures. They must not be sorted into a national ranking or treated as comparable counts of unique people. A county or regional total is not city-proper attendance; Flagstaff’s older study period is labeled.
The additional destinations broaden coverage using official tourism recommendations. San Juan is grouped with U.S. destinations because Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, and is also searchable as part of the Caribbean.

International: the original index-based set
The first 30 international guides were selected from Euromonitor’s 2025 Top 100 City Destinations Index. This composite index considers tourism performance, infrastructure and other destination factors. It is not an arrivals ranking and does not measure a city’s search demand.
Euromonitor’s primary methodology ↗ and announcement support the method and leading cities. Full rank values are attributed to the table reproduced by Vacations & Travel ↗; the complete original paid table was not independently accessed.

International: broader regional coverage
These additions address gaps in the original selection, rather than extending that index into an invented global visitation ranking. Official tourism sources establish the destination and its visitor highlights. Where a visitor total is supplied, its period and definition are stated separately.

The ten stops within each city
59 guides preserve the numbered order, rating and review count from a dated Tripadvisor source snapshot. 41 guides use a clearly labeled editorial selection supported by official tourism and attraction information, with no invented ratings or quantitative rank claims.
An official tourism recommendation supports a credible visitor shortlist; it does not prove that a stop has more visitors than every alternative. Open “Data & sources” on a guide to see its exact method and destination boundaries.
Primary attraction operators, museums, parks and tourism organizations support the practical information. Nearby excursions are labeled, and known material access notices are shown. A source’s rank is not evidence that a venue is open today.
